CNN – The latest grades for the nation’s report card are in, and it shows 12th graders have not improved in reading or science since 2009, according to the 2013 National Assessment of Educational Progress study.
The study states 38% of high school seniors scored at or above “proficient” in reading.
It also states 26% hit or exceeded the proficient mark in math. That’s roughly about the same as the results in 2009.
Asian/pacific islanders took the top spot in both reading and math. African Americans scored the lowest in both categories, according to the study.
