In Benton County, the Emergency Management Agency has developed a storm shelter registry which allows people who have created a storm shelter inside their home to provide certain information to first responders.

All of the information gathered from the registry is then put into the county’s graphical information system (GIS) mapping system. That way, if a natural disaster hits, emergency personnel will be able to get their hands on that information, and find your storm shelter to make sure you are safe.
