A Springdale burglar was arrested after stealing $50 from a business and then fleeing into the woods, according to court documents.

Police viewed surveillance video showing the burglary suspect wearing a tool belt and taking $50 from a cash register at A&P Auto Center Towing located at 1317 S. Turner St. in Springdale, according to the documents.

Police started to search for the suspect with a spotlight, and he was located leaning into a white Lexus. When the spotlight hit him, he grabbed a backpack and fled into nearby woods, according to court documents.

He was pursued by authorities and caught hiding in a, “thick wooded area.”

While searching his backpack, police found a tool belt and a dismantled .22 revolver. While searching the suspect, they found $27 in his pockets that they said they believe are from the cash register.
