Chairman John Brown, with the Benton County Election Commission, said there are 73 polling sites Tuesday (May 20). He said that's about 20 more than there were in the 2012 Presidential Election.

The Benton County Election Commission ran out of paper in the 2012 election and some of its machines had issues counting ballots. However, this time around Brown said they've covered all of their bases.

"We have a lot more paper ballots, the machines have been logged in accuracy testing, everything is working like it's supposed to right now," Brown said.

During this primary election, the Benton County Prosecutor race will be decided.

Benton County voters will decide if they want Assistant Prosecutor Nathan Smith to move up to the prosecutor job or if they want Rogers Attorney Kimberly Weber to fill that vacant spot.

Other positions on the ballot include County Judge, legislators and other state races like Governor and Lieutenant Governor.

To vote, voters will choose either a Republican, a Democrat or a non-partisan ballot.

Brown reminded voters about the New voting ID Law. It requires every voter to show a federally or state issued identification.

If a voter doesn't provide one, he or she will have to vote on a provisional ballot and their ID by next Tuesday at noon at the County Clerk's Office.

More than 5,200 voters cast ballots early, according to the election commission.

Polls are open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
