Fort Smith Police Investigate Convenience Store Robbery

Right now Fort Smith Police are investigating a robbery
that took place last night (Tuesday, May 20th) at
Mr. Jiff's convenience store located on Towson Avenue.

Police say they received a call after 8 last night (Tuesday, May 20th)
informing them about the robbery.

When police arrived at the scene,
store clerk Joyce Henry laid on the floor complaining of an injured hip.
Henry told police she started to sweep around the store when a white male
sporting a gray hoodie and a red bandana covering his face,
pushed her to the floor from behind.

That’s when the suspect repeatedly asked her how
to open the closed cash drawer.
Once she told the suspect, he the opened the drawer
and took off with an unknown amount of money.
