Northbound and southbound lane closures have been announced in Fayetteville for flyover construction, according to a news release from the city.

On Monday (June 2) until Friday (June 6), North College Avenue (northbound and southbound) will be reduced to one travel lane between the evening hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. to allow a paving contractor to cold mill the existing asphalt and then lay down new asphalt surfacing, according to the release.

The work will be occurring on North College Avenue near Millsap Road at the flyover bridge and the eastbound exit ramp of the Fulbright Expressway, the release states.

Temporary traffic control devices and flag staff will be there during these hours to direct traffic and ensure safety. Motorists are advised to expect slow-moving traffic during these periods.

“Once the flyover is complete, it will allow drivers traveling northbound on Highway 71B to cross over Fulbright Expressway and enter the CMN commercial development area by the Olive Garden restaurant or to access the Fulbright Expressway westbound to I‑49,” the release states.
