Arkansas pitcher Chris Oliver was arrested on suspicion of DWI Tuesday morning and booked in the Washington County jail.
The Farmington native was booked at 3:50 a.m. and released at 6:25 a.m. on $1,075 bond.
According to the police report, Oliver was pulled over for making an improper right turn from Stadium Drive on to Martin Luther King Boulevard. The officer on duty detected alcohol on Oliver’s breath and performed a field sobriety test. Oliver was then taken to the Washington County Detention Center where he blew a .09, the report states.
The junior led the team in wins this season with nine, posting a 2.51 earned run average, and was a regular starter on the mound for the Hogs. Oliver pitched in game one of the NCAA regionals in Charlottesville, Va., earning the win in a 3-2 victory over Liberty.
Oliver is expected to be drafted this weekend in the MLB First Year Player Draft.
A court date is set for July 11.
