Firefighters responded Monday afternoon to the Hickory Creek campground, where a camper fire may have resulted in a small explosion, according to local authorities.

Hickory Creek Fire Department responded around 3 p.m. to a campground area near Arkansas 264 and Cow Face Road. Lowell crews were also called to the scene, but were called off before arriving, according to the Springdale Fire Department.

A caller reported that a camper was on fire, and there may have been a small explosion. The fire was seemingly out and under control before crews arrived, according to the fire department.

Fire officials called the fire “minor” and said it may have been caused by a propane leak.

There were no reported injuries.
