The 2014 NWA Pride Parade was held Saturday (June 14) morning in Downtown Fayetteville.

Participants marched along Dickson Street before gathering in the Walton Arts Center parking lot for a brief rally.

The theme for this year’s parade was “United We Stand! Change is Coming!”

Organizers said the Grand Marshals were Walmart Pride leaders who influenced their company's decision to implement Domestic Partner Benefits, along with other LGBT policies.

Northwest Arkansas Pride was founded in 2007 by Ken Boyle. The non-profit organization's mission is to educate, celebrate and advocate respect and awareness of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and supportive allies, according to its website.
