The Fort Smith Board of Directors will be talking road projects at their meeting Tuesday night (June 17).

They're set to decide whether to spend a maximum of 183,842 for the design of two new roads being built ahead of the new ArcBest Corporation headquarters at Chaffee Crossing.

ArcBest, a freight transportation company, announced its plans to build their headquarters there in June, bringing an estimated 975 jobs to the region.

To accommodate the growth, the city and the Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority have agreed to split the cost of building two new roads in the area, coming in an at a cost of $3.8 million.

Tuesday's meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Fort Smith Public Schools Service Center on Jenny Lind Road.
