KTHV – The Arkansas Legislative Council approved a resolution urging the Arkansas Supreme Court to uphold a voter-approved ban on gay marriages, according to a report from affiliate station KTHV.

The measure was sponsored by Sen. Jason Rapert, R-Conway, and passed easily on a voice vote despite objections from multiple Democrats, the report states.

The non-binding resolution accuses Circuit Judge Chris Piazza of failing to keep his oath and uphold the Arkansas Constitution after ruling that the state ban on gay marriage was unconstitutional, according to KTHV.
