Van Buren Police say a local man and woman wanted in connection with a felony child abuse case have been captured in Gulf Shores Alabama.

Jordan Whitney, 31, and his live-in girlfriend, Brandie Lindemann, 28, are now in police custody, according to Detective Jonathan Wear with Van Buren Police.

Both Whitney and Lindemann are expected to be extradited back to Van Buren later this week, Wear said.

This, after a child abuse investigation started on May 5th, according to a police report from the department. The victims involved are Lindemann’s children, who range in age from 6 to 10 years old, according to police.

“The children are all out of the home, and far away from any contact of the suspects in this case,” Wear said.

The children are now under the direction of the Department of Human Services, according to Wear.

Once the investigation started, Wear said the police department lost contact with both of the suspects, and had reason to believe they left the area.

Van Buren Police issued warrants for the arrests of both Whitney and Lindemann as a result.

Whitney is facing charges of domestic battery in the second degree, aggravated assault on a family or household member and endangering the welfare of a minor, according to police. Lindemann is facing charges of permitting the abuse of a minor and endangering the welfare of a minor, according to police.
