An Oklahoma congressional candidate announced that he has plans to contest the recent primary election on June 24 of Rep. Frank Lucas, R-Okla., according to a report from affiliate station KFOR.

KFOR obtained a letter, in which, Tim Murray said he doesn’t feel Rep. Lucas is qualified for office.

“It does come as kind of a shock to read that you’re not you,” said Lucas.

The letter starts, “. . .it is widely known Rep. Frank D. Lucas is no longer alive and has been displayed by a look alike.”

Murray’s campaign website goes into further detail saying that Lucas was hanged, “. . .executed by the world court on or about Jan. 11, 2011,. . .” in Ukraine.

Lucas said he has never been to Ukraine, according to KFOR.

For the past 20 years, Lucas has served in Congress, and he has faced Murray before, KFOR reported.

“He was the Democratic nominee for Congress two years ago. This time, he chose to run as a Republican,” said Lucas.
