The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the man accused of threatening to kill his estranged wife, their kids and her parents, according to a news release Friday (June 27).

Robert D. Gray, of Darrow, La., was arrested by the Hackett, Ar., Police Department.  Police say Gray traveled from Louisiana to Hackett seeking the location of his estranged wife. His wife however was not in nor does she live in the Hackett area. Hackett Police recognized Gray and took him into custody.

Police say an inventory search of his vehicle being towed revealed Gray had  plastic bottles of gasoline, butane lighters, zip ties, duct tape, and rubber gloves.  Also in a backpack were found a large ball peen hammer and a small hacksaw according to the news release.  Police believe Gray had come to Arkansas to carry out his threats.

The Fort Smith Fire Department Bomb Squad was notified and assisted with rendering the flammable liquids safe.

Gray has been interview by the Sabastian County Sheriff’s Office.  He was taken to the Sabastian County Adult Dentition Center. There is currently no bond set for Gray.

Authorities say they are still investigating and other charges may be added. For now Gray faces felony charges of 1st degree terrorist threatening.
