An armed suspect is on the run after police say he robbed a Fort Smith gas station around 9 a.m. Monday (June 30).
Cpl. Scott Jackson said the robbery happened at the Jenny Lind Mart at the intersection of Jenny Lind and Jackson St.
One suspect came into the store, armed with a handgun and demanding money. The suspect ran away from the store on foot. Authorities say they’re not sure if he or she got away with any cash.
Authorities said no one inside the store was hurt during the robbery. The convenience store is on lock down at this time, according to police. Other stores in the area could also be put on lock down while authorities search for the suspect.
No suspect description has been provided at this point, Cpl. Jackson said.
At this point, authorities are not sure if this armed robbery is connected with last night’s armed robbery in the Moffett bottoms. Those suspects are still on the run as of Monday morning, according to authorities.
