The Springdale SWAT Team raided three locations Friday, arresting two men and collecting guns and ammunition in a drug trafficking investigation, according to the Springdale Police Department.

Jamal Staves and Don Warren were arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia. Staves also faces a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Warren faces an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Warren was released the next day on $5,000 bond, while Staves remains in the Washington County Detention Center without bond, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The SWAT Team and Springdale detectives first raided an Ashport Street home, where Staves, 38, was found in the master bedroom. Police said he had a loaded Smith & Wesson .223 rifle loaded and leaning against the bed, with a round in the chamber. Staves was arrested without incident at the scene.

Staves is a convicted felon who had recently been released from the Arkansas Department of Correction, according to the Springdale Police Department.

Authorities recovered two pistols, ammunition, drug paraphernalia and a digital scale from the home, police said.

The SWAT Team and detectives later served a warrant on a home on Golden Meadow Avenue, listed as Warren’s home address. Investigators said they recovered $64,000 in cash, 22 grams of marijuana, a shotgun, a pistol, a rifle and ammunition. Warren was then arrested.

Authorities served a third warrant of the day on a location on Larch Place. The SWAT Team and investigators found digital scales a revolver, packing materials, a small amount of marijuana and almost five pounds of methamphetamine, according to Springdale police.

The case is ongoing, police said.
