It was a sea of food, fun and freedom at this year’s Freedom Fest in Greenwood.

Freedom rang through the Greenwood square Friday (July 4).

"We have four to five thousand people come through here," said director Lance Terry.

Terry said the event takes about a year to plan and they started a new form of entertainment this year.

"The laser show for sure, and the lights on the stage we didn't have any lights at all last year so definitely the laser show," said Greenwood Mayor Doug Kinslow.

But many attending said it’s all about the fireworks.

"We've spent about ten thousand dollars on fireworks," Terry said.
