A motorcycle wreck slowed down traffic on Walnut Street in Rogers on Friday afternoon.

Police and rescue crews responded around 5:40 p.m. to the intersection of Walnut Street and 28th Street in reference to a motorcycle crash, according to the Rogers Fire Department.

The motorcycle was driven by Douglas Tyner, 64.

Police said he was following a Dodge Nitro, driven by Glenda Hellberg, 52, eastbound on Walnut Street.

Eyewitnesses told investigators, Hellberg slowed to turn right onto S. 28th Street and Tyner swerved to avoid hitting the rear of the SUV. Tyner then collided with the passenger side of the SUV as it was turning right, according to police.

Tyner and a passenger were taken to the hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Tyner was cited for careless driving.
