Three Van Buren suspects were arrested Thursday (July 3) shortly after 12 a.m. in connection with multiple theft cases, according to a news release from the Van Buren Police Department.

The suspects were identified as Kohl Thompson (at right) and Nicholas Pagel (bottom). A third suspect arrested had their name withheld for being a minor, the release states.

Officers responded to a call of three males trying to break into a vehicle near Fir Drive in Van Buren. Police were able to locate the suspects and found their car parked three blocks away from the target vehicle, according to the release.

While searching their vehicle, police found stolen property from an earlier burglary report. They also found marijuana in plain view, the release states.

Pagel and Thompson were booked into the Crawford County Detention Center and face charges of breaking and entering, theft of a credit card, theft of property, residential burglary and possession of a controlled substance. The minor was processed as a juvenile, according to the release.
