The dead woman found face down in a Fayetteville creek last week has been identified by police as 30-year-old Patricia Sprouse.

Sprouse’s body was found last Wednesday (July 2) in a creek just east of the Fayetteville Salvation Army. Police said three spray cans of “Dust Off” were discovered next to her body.

An autopsy by the Arkansas State Crime Lab determined Sprouse’s cause of death as drowning. She passed out from difluoroethane toxicity after inhaling the “Dust Off” spray, the Fayetteville Police Department announced Tuesday.

There were no signs of foul play at the scene. The woman’s body was discovered around 6:45 p.m. by someone walking in the area. Sprouse had previously stayed at the nearby Salvation Army and was battling addiction problems, a Salvation Army official told 5NEWS.
