Authorities say one person was hospitalized with injuries after an accident in Fort Smith Wednesday morning (July 9). The accident happened at the intersection of Phoenix and Towson around 5:40 a.m., when a minivan ran a red light, according to authorities on scene.
Officers with Fort Smith Police said that was when the minivan was t-bond by another car.
The driver of the car that hit the minivan was taken to the hospital by ambulance with minor injuries, according to officers on scene. The driver of the van was not hurt, according to police.
Authorities said they did issue the driver of the van a ticket for running the red light.
At this point, names of the drivers involved are not being released.
