POPE COUNTY (KFSM) – A Pope County constable was arrested on suspicion of damaging more than $1,000 of Walmart property Sunday (July 13), according to a probable cause report.

Kenny Loveless, 43, was arrested after the Russellville Police Department responded to a call on criminal mischief at the Walmart located at 2409 E. Main St., the report states.

Walmart manager Jeff Wright told police that a shopping car corral had been damaged. Authorities reviewed security footage and saw Loveless, wearing a police t-shirt, and two teenage girls get into a white and tan Chevrolet pickup truck, the report states.

The two teenage girls were identified as Loveless’ daughter and one of her friends, according to the attorney representing Loveless.

The driver of the truck hit a shopping cart corral, dragging it behind the vehicle, according to the report.

Loveless then got out of the truck and got into the driver’s seat. He attempted to pull the truck forward to dislodge the corral, and on his second attempt, he pulled the shopping cart corral from the ground and dislodged it from the truck, the report states.

He made an attempt to place the corral back into position and then left the store. Walmart personnel told authorities they had dealt with him before, according to the report.

Police used the license plate seen in the footage and found the truck was registered to Loveless, the report states.

Loveless was booked into the Pope County Detention Center, and he faces a charge of criminal mischief, according to the report.

Walmart officials told authorities the shopping cart corral is no longer usable and has been pulled from the lot. The damage was estimated at $1,350, the report states.
