The Bentonville Parks and Recreation Department will hold a "Topping Off Ceremony" at the Community Center's construction zone at 11 a.m. It's located at S.W. Citizen's Circle.
They will offer tours and a free lunch for the first 200 people who attend. It's expected to last two hours.
Lee Farmer, recreation services manager, said construction is on schedule.
"It's a good opportunity to show the public the current construction and where we are at in the construction process," Farmer said. "They'll be able to see where a lot of the rooms and tell what's going to be offered there at the community center."
The 80,000 sq. ft. building will have pools, a lazy river, meeting rooms, a gym, tracks, a large fitness area and tennis courts. The 35-acre park will also include multi-purpose sports fields and an amphitheater.
Construction crews have poured the foundation and started placing the steel beams for the structure.
"This is really a good building for the entire public to offer a lot of opportunity for programming," Farmer said.
The Bentonville Community Center is expected to open in the first half of 2015.
