FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) - The fifth annual Firefly Fling at the Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks entertained local families from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday night.

Among the highlights were picture-taking with fairies, tying wishes to the wishing tree, crafts for the kids and local live music.

Organizers said around 2,000 people came out for last year's event. They said they expected even more this year.

Leah Chamberlain said she and her family enjoy the evening because of games for the kids and socializing for the parents.

"We've been the last two years," Chamberlain said, "And it seems much bigger than it's ever been...we have a great time it's a great place for the community to get together."

First-time festival goer Danielle Weatherby said her 4-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter had many activities to keep them busy.

"It's great and the kids are having a lot of fun," Weatherby said, "There's a lot of entertainment, places for them to run around and there's ton of people here."

Tickets were $8 for adults and $4 for children, with all of the proceeds going back to the Botanical Gardens Of The Ozarks.
