CRAWFORD COUNTY (KFSM) - Deputies with the Crawford County Sheriff's Office are investigating after a camper burned on Highway 220, near Cedarville Tuesday morning (July 22).

Another driver saw the camper burst into flames near Lee Creek Road just after 5:30 a.m. and called authorities, according to dispatchers.

According to Crawford County Chief Deputy Jimmy Damante, "The fire had been burning for quite some time probably all through the night, at the point smoldering more or less."

Authorities said no one was inside the camper at that time. "They don't know who the camper belongs too," said Damante.

The camper was destroyed in the fire, according to authorities. Now, deputies are investigating what caused it to burn in the first place.

Damante said, it may take a couple of days to determine the cause.
