EUREKA SPRINGS (KFSM) – The Arkansas Department of Health Section of Emergency Medical Services has launched an investigation into the death of a Little Rock biker who died in Eureka Springs, according to a news release.

Eureka Springs Fire & EMS was notified on Tuesday afternoon (July 22) about the investigation into Little Rock biker Laura Wooldridge, 39, the release states.

Woolridge died as a result of injuries sustained after a bicycle crash at Lake Leatherwood Park, according to the release.

The incident occurred on July 19 around 9:30 a.m., the release states.

The investigation will focus on the emergency care provided throughout contact with the patient, according to the release.

“The fire department has always prided itself in progressive, excellent patient care.  It is sad to hear that there is concern regarding the end result of treatment of the patient,” said Rhys Williams, Eureka Springs Fire Chief.

In total, the investigation is estimated to take a month, the release states.
