ROGERS (KFSM) ~ Strong wind gusts charged through Benton County, ripping up trees, and knocking out power as the rain storm swept through the area.
The powerful storm blew its way through the playground at the Rogers Boys and Girls Club, destroying some of the equipment, and littering the area with branches.
The storm left more than 8,000 households without power throughout Benton County, as wind gusts of up to 59 miles-per-hour tore through the area.
With the power out across town, the Rogers Police Department used social media to keep people informed of the areas where downed trees were blocking the roadway.
Everyone at the Boys and Girls Club is safe.
They tell 5NEWS they brought the kids at the facility indoors prior to the storm hitting.
