Authorities are searching for a murder suspect they say may be in Northwest Arkansas.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is offering a $5,000 reward for information about the whereabouts of James Douglas Manken.

Manken, 40, is a first-degree murder suspect in the death of Wayne Lee Wennerholm in Adair County, Okla. Wennerholm was found beaten to death, and a subsequent investigation led authorities to suspect Manken, according to the Bureau of Investigation.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation began assisting the Adair County Sheriff’s Office on July 13, and a warrant was issued for Manken’s arrest July 14.

Through interviews, investigators believe Manken may be in Northwest Arkansas or Northeast Oklahoma, said Gary Perkins, a special agent with the bureau.

Perkins said if someone comes forward with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Manken, they will be eligible for the $5,000 reward.

Anyone with information on where Manken might be is asked to contact the Adair County Sheriff’s Office at 918-696-2610 or the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-522-8017.
