YELL COUNTY (KFSM) – Search crews on Tuesday found the body of Harper Floyd, the 10-month-old Greenwood infant who was reported missing last week with his father in the Ouachita Mountains in Yell County. Authorities also found the body of the baby’s father, 33-year-old Brian Floyd.
A man that grew up with Floyd is remembering his friend.
Floyd lived with Drew Lovvorn and his family for a time when they were children and he was like an older brother.
“Bryan was an accomplished guitar player and he would sit down with me whenever I had trouble with a certain record or bar,” Lovvorn said. "He liked to have a good time.”
Lovvorn said Bryan went by Pinky Floyd as a nickname and Harper Floyd wasn't his only child. Lovvorn said Floyd leaves behind a daughter.
“The fatherly type and last I knew he was having a really great time with her,” Lovvorn said.
His longtime friend said he was an outdoors man.
“Lee Creek, Devils Den Ouachita Mountains always outside,” Lovvorn said.
Lovvorn said the idea of Floyd not making it in the conditions is impossible to understand.
“If he was by himself or Brian being who he was or who I remember him to be might of have been worried about the safety of son,” Lovvorn said.

The family said the situation is difficult and they need time.
