Fort Smith (KFSM)– Central Mall is gearing up for the tax-free holiday weekend. On Friday (Aug. 1) employees were making the final touches to all their store’s displays.
Whether you’re looking for shoes, clothes, backpacks or electronics, shelves are stocked and ready for back-to-school shoppers. This weekend (Aug. 2 & 3) the mall will be open for extended hours. Saturday the mall will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sunday, it will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“Some of the individual store hours may vary, and then on Saturday we’re doing a little added gift, if shoppers spend more than 250 dollars on Saturday, they can bring their receipts into Center Court, and we’ll give them a free girt,” Jennifer Dreisbach, Central Mall Marketing Manager said.
Those same-day receipts must be turned in before 2 p.m. tomorrow. In addition to no sales taxes, many retailers will be taking part in a “sidewalk sale event” inside and outside their stores. For a full list of tax-exempt items at the mall during the tax-free weekend, click here.
