The Choctaw Travel Plaza gas station and convenience store was put on lockdown around 3:00 p.m. Sunday (August 3).
According to LeFlore County Dispatchers, as of 1:00 a.m. Monday (August 4) the convenience store was reopened.
LeFlore County Sheriff Rob Seale said they arrested a man on unrelated charges while he was getting gas. When impound police searched his vehicle, they found the suspicious device. Authorities described the device to be a pipe that was capped on both ends.
Poteau Police, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and Tribal Police assisted in the investigation. The suspect's identity has not been released.
