FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – One of Fayetteville’s monthly outdoor activities has been cancelled for August, according to a post on the city of Fayetteville’s Facebook page.

First Thursday Fayetteville has been cancelled due to the threat of rain, according to the post.

“Due to the high chances of rain and thunderstorms this evening, August’s First Thursday has been cancelled. This is not a decision we take lightly, but cannot risk exposing the fragile art and stage electronics to lightning or rain,” the post states.

The next First Thursday Fayetteville is scheduled for September, according to the post.

First Thursday Fayetteville is an art celebration held in downtown Fayetteville on the first Thursday of every month. The festivities include art, street vendors, music and more, according to the activity’s website.
