Morgan Emerges For Arkansas Offense In Scrimmage

Former Greenwood receiver shines in preseason scrimmage for Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -  Drew Morgan got used to turning heads during his time at Greenwood but the receiver didn't see much time last season for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

The start of his sophomore season has been a pretty good indication that will change in 2014.

Morgan hauled in a pair of touchdown catches Saturday in the team's first scrimmage of fall camp and continues to impress his position coach.

"Out of all my guys right now, Drew is probably playing the best," receivers coach Michael Smith said. "I'm super ecstatic about the way he is catching the ball. The way he is competing."

Morgan got used to hearing critics say he didn't have the size or speed to play for the Razorbacks but he's taken that in stride.

"I've had people in the past that have really just have quoted 'you're not going to do this or you're not going to do that'," Morgan said.  "'Dude, you've got no chance to play. You're white. You're 6-foot. You're about a buck 70. You're not going to make it in the SEC. You can just sit back.' That is motivation that has grinded me to this day and I'm not going to stop until I achieve my goal
