ARKANSAS (KFSM) – AARP poll results released on Monday (Aug. 11) show Arkansans age 50 and up are experiencing a high level of anxiety about retirement issues, and in a small margin, prefer Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., over Rep. Tom Cotton, R-Ark.
The poll shows that 48 percent support Pryor, while 43 percent support Cotton. The margin of error was reported to be 2.9 percent, according to a news release from Pryor’s campaign staff.
Contrasting this, a Talk Business-Hendrix College poll released in late July showed Cotton with a slight lead over Pryor with the 65 and up age group, the release states.
Pryor and Cotton are both campaigning for a U.S. Senate seat that is currently held by Pryor. Voters are set to decide who will represent Arkansas as senator in November.
