ALTUS (KFSM) - Wineries can be found all across the world but some of the most elaborate ones are in our own back yard.
In the small town of Altus, in Franklin County, you will find Paul Post and Post Winery.
"Altus has been known as the wine making capital of Arkansas it's going on 100 years," Post said.
Post dates all the way back to 1880.
Post said sometimes are set backs being in a small town.
"This time of the year when school starts it's a little slower,” Post said.
Post said the process of turning grapes into wine starts in the back. There are machines that de-vine then crush the grapes.
They are then pumped into tanks.
The tanks then pump the wine into machines for the crowds that flow in.
"1,000 a week usually come through here," Post said.
The machines clean, fill, cork, and label the bottles.
Post said the machines pump out 60 bottles a minute.
Post said his product goes all the way from neighboring states to China.
