UNIVERSITY of ARKANSAS (KFSM) - Students at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith (UAFS) campus will start moving into campus housing today (August 14).

UAFS Chancellor Dr. Paul B. Beran and First Lady Janice Beran will be on-hand to assist with move-in efforts at the Lion's Den. Housing officials say the need for volunteers is great, due to the how many students will be on campus.

"Over the course of the next three days, more than 450 students will move in on campus to the lions den," said Beth Eppinger, Director of Residential Life,  "Another 450 students will move in to the apartments across from campus. So by the end of the weekend, 900 students will call UAFS home."

According to school administrators, all students have received information on parking and move-in times to help the days go smoothly. Traffic is expected to be heavy on Grand Avenue and Kinkead Avenue throughout the day as students unload.

Students at the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville will begin arriving at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow (August 15), and continue moving in all day Saturday(August 16).
