MAUMELLE, Ark. (KTHV) – According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, a shooting took place on Tuesday evening at the home of professional boxer, Jermain Taylor.

Authorities say they responded to a 911 call about a shooting around 6:00 p.m. at Taylor’s home in Maumelle.  The victim, who is said to be Taylor’s cousin, was shot several times. According to the Sheriff’s office, the victim is in serious condition.

Lt. Carl Minden with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office says Taylor was arrested and charged with one count of first degree battery and one count of aggravated assault. Taylor is being held in the Pulaski County Jail without bond.

Taylor has 32 wins and four losses in his professional boxing career, which began in 2001. He is a former undisputed middleweight champion, according to BoxRec.com, a boxing statistics site.
