ROGERS [KFSM] - Campgrounds, lakes, beaches and picnic areas were all busy Sunday as families gathered to celebrate the holiday weekend.

"We were going to come out yesterday, but with the weather forecast we were going to wait until today, and it looks like everyone else did too," Brian Casto said, "The family is going to go out and enjoy the beautiful weather."

Casto lives in Rogers, and said his plans for the weekend include soaking up every minute of the long weekend.

"It's going to be a relaxing day before Tuesday and you go back to the real world and work week," Casto said.

With the 90 degree heat Saturday and Sunday, most locals said they preferred to stay on or in the water.

"It was beautiful," Ana Ford said, "My son went off looking for a boat and I believe he found one, so we are fixing to take it out as soon as they get here."
