FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – More than a week after two trucks were burned in Fayetteville, police still have not interviewed the owner of one of them, Brandon Allen.

Allen, the quarterback for the University of Arkansas has not been available for interview due to his schedule with football, and Labor Day.

Police say they plan to interview Allen on Wednesday (Sept. 3.)

The owner of the other Chevy Avalanche, Eli Matiolli, was interviewed by police last week.

“It really just surprises me, and I have no idea how they haven’t caught anybody,” said Skyler Bagby, a U of A freshman.

Police say they don’t believe the gap between interviews will impact the investigation.

“There is always that possibility. But, we don’t believe so,” said Sgt. Craig Stout of the Fayetteville Police Department. “Trying to be courteous to his schedule, we don’t believe this will impact the investigation.”

Police hope they can draw a line between the two truck arsons, as they believe they are related.

Police say they hope to grab key information from Allen.

“Perhaps of anyone he might know who would want to do this type of thing,” Stout said.

Police tell 5NEWS it has been difficult to locate the suspect in the case, due to a majority of possible evidence being burned with the trucks.

Police have surveyed local business security camera footage in hope of locating the suspect.
