LEFLORE COUNTY, Okla. (KFSM) –  Construction crews will begin repairing two bridges near the Wister area today (Sept. 2), according to the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office.

For the next six months,  crews will be rebuilding the bridge on Pocahontas Rd. over Caston Creek. Officials say the new bridge will be built using concrete beams and will feature two lanes.

Some in the area who live close to the bridge say they are glad repairs are being made, despite the inconvenience.

“Well its going to take some of our hay land that we use, but other than that its going to be a lot better, ” said Marty Cooper.

For the next 30 days crews will also make repairs to the Summerfield bridge located between Highway 271 and 348th Avenue.
