September 10th marks National TV Dinner Day. There is dispute about who invented the TV dinner, but there is little dispute about it’s claim to convenience. While some are healthier than others, they offer a quick solution to dinner. The TV dinner was introduced in the 1920’s by way of flash freezing a meal, but really came to popularity in the 1950s.

They still have popularity.  According to the source Ferrier, in  2001, consumers spent $380 million on frozen TV dinners.
