LITTLE ROCK (KTHV) – Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel’s office has asked the state supreme court to uphold the Arkansas gay marriage ban, saying that a county judge was incorrect to say it violated the state and U.S. constitutions, according to affiliate station KTHV.

On Monday (Sept. 15), the attorney general asked justices to uphold the 2004 constitutional amendment that defined marriage as being between a man and a woman, KTHV reported.

Pulaski County Judge Chris Piazza struck down the ban earlier this year, according to KTHV.
