Collins Named SEC Offensive Player Of The Week

It didn’t take long for Alex Collins to cash in on setting a career high in rushing yards.

The Arkansas sophomore ran for 212 yards and two scores in the 49-28 win at Texas Tech and was named the SEC offensive player of the week Monday for that performance.

Collins scored on a 15-yard run in the second quarter and then added an 84-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter that essentially put the game out of reach.

Collins’ 212 yards was the 9th most in school history and most since Darren McFadden set the SEC record with 321 yards against South Carolina in 2007.

Fellow running back Jonathan Williams also had a career day as he scored four times and rushed for 145 yards. The four touchdowns was also the most since 2007, also by McFadden.

Collins is the first Razorback offensive player to win the award since September of 2012 (Cobi Hamilton).
