ALMA (KFSM) - People in Alma are preparing for the worst. They packed an emergency response trailer full of everything they'll need, the next time a disaster strikes. Volunteers came out to the Alma Boys and Girls Club on Wednesday (Sept.17) to get the trailer ready to be a mobile command center for the next time a natural disaster hits.

Both Alma and Van Buren Lion's Club helped out to stuff the trailer full of supplies that would be needed, following an emergency or a natural disaster. Everything that families in the area would need including, shampoo, body wash and even toys and diapers for the little ones.

Volunteers sorted out all of the supplies into kits then into the trailer it went, unitl it was all filled up. All the supplies and tools will then be stored until its needed. The emergency response trailer and the supplies came at a cost of $10,000 which was paid for through a grant. According to Don Ellis with the Lion's Club, "That allowed us to buy this trailer and to purchase supplies by the case and also some tarps."

"We are going up to each one of the district conventions through the state and how the lions what we have going for us," said Ellis. The $4,000 worth of supplies that went into the trailer, all came from Wal Mart.
