SEBASTIAN COUNTY (KFSM) – The Arkansas State Crime Lab identified the body of a man found in the Arkansas River on Sept. 11, authorities say.

The man was identified as Jamison Boyster, who was reported missing from Barling by his family on Sept. 9, according to authorities.

The Barling Police Department started the missing person investigation, and the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the case. The body was first seen floating in the river near the Arbuckle Island area, according to the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office.

A river boat captain called the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, but the information was forwarded to the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office, deputies said.

The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office patrol boat and investigators were sent to the area, and when they arrived, they found the body approximately five miles downriver from Vache Grasse Park, according to deputies.
