LOWELL (KFSM)- Central Research, Inc. in Lowell plans to to mail more 150 care packages to U.S. Military service members who won't be home for the holidays. Operation H.O.G. (Handing Out Gratitude) started in 2011.

They are accepting donations like canned food, clothing and toiletries. Its employees will prep the care package and ship it.

The company is accepting donations until Nov. 11, which is Veteran's Day. Click here for a list of donations options.

John Dillard, president of the Office for Central Research, is a Vietnam veteran.

"I was back there in the Vietnam era and quite frankly there weren't a lot of packages coming back to us and veterans weren't as received and thought of as well as they are today," Dillard said. "I'm happy to see that our veterans today are being treated better than they were 40 years ago."

If anyone has a military family member who won't be home for the holidays, Dillard wants to include them in their list of care packages.

"We get messages from several of them thanking us for just taking a minute to show our concern for them and let them know that somebody here in Arkansas and in the U.S. appreciates what they are doing for our country," Dillard said.
