ROGERS (KFSM) - A recreation vehicle exploded and went up in flames Monday night, blocking off a Rogers exit on Interstate 49, according to responding fire crews.

The Rogers Fire Department responded to southbound Exit 85 near Walnut Avenue around 7:30 p.m. in reference to the vehicle fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames. No one was injured in the fire.

The RV was being driven by a couple from Joplin in the area for the annual Bikes, Blues & BBQ motorcycle rally. Two motorcycles were on the back of the RV. Everything in the RV was lost in the fire, according to the Rogers Fire Department.

The two motorcycles were taken off of the vehicle before it exploded.

The RV was heading southbound on the interstate when the driver noticed smoke coming up from the hood. The coupled pulled over, and the vehicle was quickly engulfed in flames. The vehicle exploded a short time later, authorities said.

Several factors could have caused the explosion, including a propane tank in the vehicle, according to the fire department.
