Students at Darby Junior High School in Fort Smith were evacuated from the building after a bomb threat was found Wednesday morning (Sept. 24), according to the Fort Smith School District Superintendent’s Office.
School officials said the children and staff were taken to a safe place while Fort Smith Police searched the campus.
A Parent Link message was sent out by the district, informing parents of the threat shortly before 10:00 a.m.
Students and staff were given the all clear and allowed back into the building around lunch time, according to a representative with the school district.
Fort Smith Police said the threat was found on the wall of the girl’s bathroom.
