SPRINGDALE (KFSM) – The next court date has been set for a Springdale man accused of stabbing his brother, according to police records.

Dickie Spears, 52, of Springdale was arrested after police say he stabbed his brother multiple times in the elbow, ribs and under his arm.

He was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on Sept. 21 at 8:34 a.m. and faces a charge of second-degree domestic battery, as well as, two parole violations, according to the jail’s intake report.

Spears had his first hearing on Sept. 22, and his next court date has been scheduled for Oct. 22 at 7:45 a.m., according to police records.

His bond has been set at $3,500, but he has not bonded out of the detention center, according to the jail’s intake report.

Police said the stabbing incident happened in their parent’s home at 618 Success Avenue in Springdale around 10 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 20).

The victim, Clifford Kunkle, 39, said the two began fighting, and he didn’t know his brother had stabbed him until he saw blood on his clothes.

He said he crawled to the side of the house so another family member could take his daughters out the front door to another apartment.

Kunkle also said he was taken by ambulance to Northwest Medical Center where he received more than 25 staples in his upper body. He also had internal bruising from the incident.
