Lincoln Woman Arrested In $5,000 Murder-For-Hire Plot
LINCOLN (KFSM) – A Lincoln woman is behind bars after authorities say she tried to hire an undercover detective to kill her estranged husband.
Jamie Cianflone, 47, was arrested Monday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. She remains in the Washington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing. Her next court date is set for Oct. 1, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Cianflone on Friday tried to hire an undercover detective with the Sheriff’s Office to kill her husband, who lives in Florida, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The suspect offered $5,000 to the undercover detective and said she wanted her husband killed so that “his own mother would not be able to identify the body,” according to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the suspect told the detective she stood to receive a financial windfall from her husband’s death. The conversation between the woman and the detective was captured on an audio recording, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
